The remarkable Lewis Franco and the Missing Cats join the Westford Music Series at the Westford Common Hall on April 19 th at 4pm. According to Dan Bolles of Seven Days VT, “Precious few hepcatamounts swing like Lewis Franco”. Known as the unimpeachable band leader and songwriter, Franco has kept the jump and jive alive in the Green Mountains with his guiling vocals crooning along with his ace band of Missing cats, artist Will Patton (mandolin) and Dono Schabner (guitar) and Susannah Blachly’s Appalachian funky blues (violin) to complete the acoustic-jazz combo band.
Expect originals as well as gypsy and jive swing tunes from the 1930’s and 1940’s, featuring close 3-part harmonies and rhythms in a fun-loving presence. His fellow band members add to the strength of the band with their gifted musical sensibilities to wrap around a dynamic performance.
